Classes

Classes at the JSKA of Rochester dojo are run at the North Hill Elementary Gym and through the Rochester Enrichment program.  Classes are separated into children 7-12 and adult (13 and up).  JSKA also offers a beginner class and a separate advanced class for further refinement of techniques, kata and kumite.  Black belt only classes are available at the Central dojo as well for a small guest fee.

Youth Classes
JSKA Rochester creates a disciplined but fun approach to teaching children Shotokan karate.  We have high expectations for our young students.  They can see improved fitness, coordination, self discipline, grades, attitude and overall maturity.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 
  • Beginners (Beginner- 8th Kyu)                       6:15-7 pm
  • Intermediate/Advanced (6th Kyu & Up)          6:15-7:45 pm

Adult Classes
Adult classes are available in both beginner and intermediate/advanced classes each night. 

Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Beginners (Beg-7th Kyu)                                 7:45-8:45 pm
  • Intermediate/Advanced (6th Kyu & Up)           7:45-9:45 pm

Additional Classes:  We offer Saturday classes throughout the year as well.  Contact Sensei Hunt for locations and times.   Classes meet from 9:30-11:30 at University Hills Elementary.  Advanced class is 9:30-11:30.  Intermediate class is 10:30-11:30.  Total fees vary with length of session.  Typically it's $15 per week paid in advance for Advanced classes or $20 daily rate.  Also, $10 per week for intermediate classes paid in advance or $15 daily rate.
