JSKA Rochester highlighted student
Our highlighted student this session is David Pasko

I am David and I currently am at the fifth-kyu purple-belt, attempting to achieve the fourth-kyu purple-belt with one brown stripe. When I was just getting started off with the concept of karate I did what the head sensei (Dan Hunt) or the assistant sensei (A.C. Barrett) told me to do. There is also the head or chief sensei (Carol Morrone) who officially works at the main dojo. I did not however attend the main dojo until I got the sixth-kyu green-belt which is where you are meant to be for at least twelve visits until you can accomplish your attempt at the first-degree black-belt. This is the reason why I had to get to the sixth-kyu green-belt so I could take the second session for the more advanced students and understood more about the concept of karate. I keep on gaining knowledge with every class of karate I continue to take until I get to first-degree black-belt.
Martial arts are about control of your complete body and being in command of what happens in life. If there was someone I didn’t know and wanted to take the person or people down I would take them down just on the understanding of martial arts. There are many different martial arts moves that all have to do with the Japanese Shotokan Karate Association. All of the students who are taking classes with JSKA will understand how much effort, will, and desire it could take to become first-degree black-belt.
Knowing how much dedication I have put into my life at the Japanese Shotokan Karate Association it is still my ultimate desire to get to the first-degree black-belt. I will do whatever it takes to benefit myself and give me confidence. That is why I encourage anyone that would be interested to take karate at some point in life.
Thanks David for your paragraphs.
